Bijoynagar Upazila in the War of Liberation

The vital contribution of Bangladesh's great independence war is in Vijayanagar upazila. On November 19, the Mukundpur area of Paharpur Union of the upazilas was first released by the Great Liberation Armed War. Which is celebrated every year as Mukundpur Day. Besides, the flag of independence of Bangladesh was first introduced to Bangladesh by this union.
