Upazila Introduction:

A) Area and Location: Bijoynagar Upazila Brahmanbaria district as well as the present government is a sub-divisional upazila and the oldest population. Titus widow size is 221.17 sq km. Vijayanagar Upazila is located between 23.51 to 24.6 degrees north latitude and 91.20 to 92.10 degrees east longitude. Nasirnagar upazila on the north, Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district on the east, Akhaura upazila on the south and sadar brahmanbaria upazila on the west. On 3 August 2010, its administrative program began as 482nd upazila. Although the Brahma Upazila is already included in Brahmanbaria sadar upazila, there is a different atmosphere and amazement as it is isolated by the Titas river. There is a combination of three types of land covering haor, plain land and small hills in this upazila of 221.17 sq km area of 10 unions. The government is an indigenous subdivision, geographically an exceptionally upazila. Bijnagar Upazila 35 km from Rajshahi city on the road from Brahmanbaria District.

B) Nomenclature: Under the rule, land contact with the kingdom of Tripura was established with the boundaries of this upazila, including Brahmannabariasaha area. It is worth mentioning that the 150-year old main road of Tripura state contact with Singargrib is still useful. Lalmati-rich Bishnupur and Singagaril union have different natural trees, including lime and pearl, as well as different religious trees. Attractive people will attract its beauty. Besides, there is a mass grave of unknown martyrs not known in Kalachara tea garden. In Bangladesh's war of liberation, very important war was organized here. The Mukundpur area of Paharpur Union was liberated on 19 November through the armed wars in the Great War of Liberation. Which is celebrated every year as Mukundpur Day. Without this, the flag of victory of independent Bangladesh entered Bangladesh through this union. During the celebration of the victory day in 2010, this district was named as Vijayanagar.
